A motorbike has been seized in South Oxhey after police received reports of it "driving recklessly".

Officers from Three Rivers Police seized the green Kawasaki ZX636 on Thursday, May 2, after its rider had also failed to stop for police on multiple occasions.

In a statement posted on social media, a police spokesperson said: "Initial action could not be taken as the bike was displaying false plates, however through help from the public and some investigation work, the bike's location was identified."

They acted "swiftly to prevent a pursuit and loss of evidence", entering the property where the motorbike was being stored and seizing it under Section 165A of the Road Traffic Act and Section 60 of the Police Reform Act.

Police were able to confirm that the motorbike was displaying the same false plates in the incidents it had been linked to, and did not have the required insurance.

Their investigation continues.
